How to Estimate the Optimal Heart Rate in Patients with Heart Failure with Preserved Ejection Fraction

نویسندگان

چکیده

Ideal heart rate (HR), particularly for those with failure preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF), remains unknown. We hypothesized that cardiac output would be maximum when the overlap between E-wave and A-wave at trans-mitral flow is "zero" in Doppler echocardiography. retrospectively investigated association among length two waves, actual HR, other echocardiographic parameters to construct a formula estimating theoretically ideal HR HFpEF. In total, 48 HFpEF patients were included (70-year-olds, 18 males). Given results of multivariate linear regression analyses, was estimated as follows: -1,050 + 8.4 × (HR [bpm]) 0.6 (deceleration time [millisecond]) 1.7 (A-width [millisecond]), which had strong agreement actually measured (r = 0.86, P < 0.001). Theoretically calculated by substituting zero into 125 ? 0.07 0.20 [millisecond]). validation cohort including another 143 patients, using again 0.72, this study, we proposed novel calculating consisting deceleration A-width, cohort. Clinical implication optimize targeting should prospective studies.

Hospitalisation in Patients With Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction

Heart failure is highly prevalent with more than 50% of cases being patients with a preserved ejection fraction (HFPEF), a figure that is projected to increase due to the changing risk factor landscape, in particular the ageing population. Overall mortality is similar to patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFREF), as are the rates of hospitalisation. Patients with HFPEF ...

Heart Rate and Outcomes in Hospitalized Patients With Heart Failure With Preserved Ejection Fraction.

BACKGROUND A lower heart rate is associated with better outcomes in patients with heart failure (HF) with reduced ejection fraction (EF). Less is known about this association in patients with HF with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). OBJECTIVES The aims of this study were to examine associations of discharge heart rate with outcomes in hospitalized patients with HFpEF. METHODS Of the 8,8...

Heart rate and outcomes in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction

Importance Lower systolic blood pressure (SBP) levels are associated with poor outcomes in patients with heart failure. Less is known about this association in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Objective To determine the associations of SBP levels with mortality and other outcomes in HFpEF. Design, Setting, and Participants A propensity score-matched observational stud...

Impaired heart rate recovery and chronotropic incompetence in patients with heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.

BACKGROUND This study assessed the chronotropic response to exercise and heart rate (HR) recovery after exercise in a carefully phenotyped group of patients with heart failure with preserved left ventricular ejection fraction (HfpEF) and a control group of similar age and gender distribution. METHODS AND RESULTS We studied 41 patients with HfpEF, 41 healthy controls, and 16 hypertensive contr...
